Fieldguide does not publish a price in 2026. Read on 14 October 2026, its website has no pricing page, no plan names, no per-user figure and no trial, and every product page ends in Book a Demo. Fieldguide pricing is set in an order form after a sales conversation, so the only reliable Fieldguide cost is the one in a written quote for your firm's headcount, engagement types and term.

That is a hard position for a partner trying to budget audit software before the demo. Below is what can be established from Fieldguide's own pages, what a quote is likely to be built from, how to benchmark it against the one vendor in the category that does print a price, and how to tell whether your firm needs an audit platform at all.

Fieldguide pricing as of October 2026

We read fieldguide.com on 14 October 2026, including the homepage, the audit product pages, the Field Financials page and the financial audit solution page. None shows a dollar amount. The address where a pricing page would normally sit returns a 404. This is what the site does and does not tell a buyer.

An independent monetization analysis published on 18 September 2026 reached the same conclusion from the contract side. It reports that Fieldguide customers buy subscriptions and services through order forms, and that the master services agreement publishes no list prices, billing metrics, package names, minimum commitments or discount schedules. In other words, the price exists only in the document your firm signs.

Why you cannot find a Fieldguide price online

The plain reason is the customer Fieldguide sells to. Its homepage says more than half of the top 100 accounting firms partner with it. The company has said its Series C brought total funding to $125 million at a $700 million valuation. A vendor at that stage, selling a platform that touches methodology, client requests, testing and reporting across a whole audit practice, prices each account individually. A firm with 400 practitioners running SOC reports and financial audits is a different contract from a firm with 12.

Directory sites do not fill the gap. Their Fieldguide listings carry ratings and feature lists and send you back to the vendor for a number. You will also find per-user monthly figures on procurement and reseller pages. Fieldguide publishes nothing for those figures to be based on, so treat any of them as an estimate and never as a quote. We have seen the same pattern across this category: the most-repeated numbers in our CaseWare pricing research traced back to a 2014 review, and the per-user figures circulating for DataSnipper pricing could not be matched to the vendor either.

What a Fieldguide quote is likely to be built from

Fieldguide does not state its pricing metric, so what follows is a list of the variables to pin down in writing, drawn from how the product is packaged on its own site. It is not a price sheet.

  • Practitioner count. Engagement platforms in this category are generally licensed by user. Ask whether reviewers, partners and occasional users count as full seats.
  • Practice areas. The site separates audit and assurance, advisory, internal audit, cybersecurity and federal work. Ask whether each is licensed separately.
  • Field Agents. Planner, Auditor, Reviewer, Financials and Orchestrator are presented as distinct agents. Ask which are included, which cost extra, and whether agent usage is metered.
  • Methodology. The site says firms deploy a licensed methodology. Ask whether your existing PPC or other content license carries over or is billed again.
  • Onboarding. Migrating templates, prior-year files and firm programs is real work. Ask for implementation as its own line with a fixed fee.
  • Term and renewal. Ask for the minimum commitment, the renewal uplift cap and the notice period for cancelling.

That last item matters more than it looks. An order form signed in a busy October tends to renew itself two or three years later with nobody watching the notice window, and firms that track renewal dates in contract management software rather than a partner's inbox are the ones that get to renegotiate.

How to benchmark a Fieldguide quote

Only one engagement platform sold to US CPA firms prints its price, which makes it the yardstick for every quote-only rival. AuditFile lists Professional at $199 per user per month and Pro Plus at $299 per user per month. Those figures are set out with the annual rates in our AuditFile pricing breakdown.

Annual software cost for a five-person firm at published prices, compared with a Fieldguide quote.
ToolPublished priceFive users, one yearWhat it covers
FieldguideNoneQuote onlyAI agent engagement platform for audit and advisory
AuditFile Professional$199 per user per month$11,940Cloud audit, review and compilation engagements
AuditFile Pro Plus$299 per user per month$17,940Same, with unlimited users on the plan and more storage
CaseWare, CCH EngagementNoneQuote onlyEngagement file, desktop or cloud
AIStatements Firm$174 per month billed yearly$2,088Statement drafting for a client roster, no audit file

Use the table as a sanity check and not as a prediction. If a Fieldguide proposal for a small team lands at several times the AuditFile figure, that is not automatically wrong, because the agents and the methodology integration are a larger product. It does tell you what you are paying for the difference, and it gives you a number to put in front of the sales team. The wider cost picture for small firms is in our guide to what audit software costs a small CPA firm.

Is there a Fieldguide free trial?

No free trial is offered on the site. The path is a demo, and Fieldguide also runs recorded and live product webinars for financial audit. If you want hands-on time before signing, ask for a sandbox engagement loaded with one of your own prior-year files as a condition of the evaluation. A demo on the vendor's sample client tells you very little about how your trial balances and templates will behave.

Is Fieldguide worth the cost for a small CPA firm?

For a firm whose revenue is mostly audits, SOC reports or advisory engagements, it can be. Fieldguide publishes customer results such as up to a 55 percent reduction in engagement hours on complex audits. Those are vendor figures and you should ask for a reference firm of your own size, but if even a third of that holds on your audit book, the platform pays for itself in realization.

For a firm whose engagement list is mostly compilations, tax-basis statements and monthly management packs, the answer is usually no. The product pages we read do not mention compilations or SSARS reviews at all. Field Financials, the module that drafts statements, works from engagement data already inside a Fieldguide audit. You would be buying an audit platform to reach its last step. The Fieldguide alternatives page compares the options by job and by which ones show a price.

A cheaper route when the statements are the bottleneck

If what your firm needs is the statement set and not the audit file, price that job separately. AIStatements takes an adjusted trial balance as a CSV, or a QuickBooks or Xero export, and returns a formatted income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement that tie to each other, with a written analysis of the period. It takes about a minute per company and the price is on the site: $24 a month billed yearly for one company, with Growth and Firm plans for a client roster.

It keeps no working papers, runs no testing, drafts no footnote disclosures and issues no report, so it is not a substitute for Fieldguide on an audit. Firms that sign opinions keep an engagement platform for those jobs and move the recurring drafting somewhere cheaper. You can try it with the upload box at the top of this page before deciding anything.

Fieldguide pricing questions buyers ask

How much does Fieldguide cost?

Fieldguide does not publish its cost. Its website, read on 14 October 2026, has no pricing page, no plans and no per-user figure, and every route ends in Book a Demo. The price is set in an order form for each firm. As a benchmark, the one engagement platform that prints a price, AuditFile, charges $199 to $299 per user per month.

Does Fieldguide charge per user?

Fieldguide does not state its licensing unit publicly. Engagement platforms in this category are generally licensed per user on an annual contract, and Fieldguide's public materials document no separate usage or per-agent charge. Get the unit, the seat count, the treatment of occasional reviewers and any agent usage limits written into the order form before you sign.

Does Fieldguide have a free trial?

No free trial is offered on Fieldguide's site as of October 2026. Buyers start with a demo. Ask for a sandbox engagement using one of your own prior-year files as part of the evaluation, so you can see how your trial balance, mappings and firm templates behave before committing to a term.

Is Field Financials priced separately?

Fieldguide does not say. Field Financials launched in August 2026 and was reported as available to all customers, with the Drafting Agent first and the tie-out and disclosure agents scheduled for fall 2026. Ask whether it is included in your subscription, which of its agents are live in your tenant, and whether later agents will carry an added charge.

What is cheaper than Fieldguide for financial statements?

If the job is producing statements and not running an audit, a drafting tool costs a small fraction of an engagement platform seat. AIStatements builds a tied P&L, balance sheet and cash flow with written commentary from a trial balance or a QuickBooks or Xero export, from $24 a month billed yearly, with the price published on the site.
