Booke AI costs $129 per business per month for its AI Bookkeeper plan in the US, billed monthly or annually. Accounting firms do not get a published rate: the firm tier, with multi-client management and a white-label client experience, is priced by request after a call. Both figures were read off booke.ai/en-us/pricing on 1 October 2026. The $20 and $50 per client figures that still circulate on review sites are not on Booke's pricing page today, so do not budget on them.

That is the short answer. The rest of this article covers what the $129 buys, what a year costs for one company and for a firm with 20 clients, where the old per-client numbers came from, what Booke leaves out, and how to price the client statement pack that sits on top of it.

Booke AI pricing by plan

Booke AI plans as published on booke.ai/en-us/pricing, read 1 October 2026.

Two details on the pricing page matter for budgeting. Adding a business partway through a billing period creates a prorated charge for the rest of the period, so onboarding a client on the 20th is not free until the 1st. And the page does not list a free trial for either plan, which means your first real test is on a paid month or a sales demo.

Booke works inside the ledger you already have. It connects to QuickBooks Online and Xero, and its homepage also lists Zoho Books. Your file stays the system of record; Booke writes the categorization back into it.

How much does Booke AI cost per year?

One business on the Business plan costs $1,548 a year at $129 a month. A founder with an operating company and a holding company pays $3,096, and three entities come to $4,644, because the meter is per business with no multi-entity discount shown.

For a bookkeeping firm the list rate is where the math stops working. Twenty clients at $129 each would be $2,580 a month, or $30,960 a year, which is more than many small firms bill those same clients for monthly bookkeeping. That is exactly why Booke sells firms a separate tier by request. Go into that call knowing your client count, the share of clients on QuickBooks Online against Xero, and roughly how many transactions a month your largest client runs, because those are the numbers a per-firm quote is built on.

Why you still see $20 per client for Booke AI

Several review and directory sites list Booke from $20 per client a month, with a $50 tier for what they call the full robotic bookkeeper. Those figures reflect an older per-client structure for firms. Booke's own US pricing page no longer publishes them: it shows $129 per business and sends firms to a pricing request. If a vendor withdraws a figure from its page, assume the deal you get will not match the old number in either direction, and ask for the per-client rate in writing.

The same rule applies to any AI bookkeeping price you read secondhand. We read every figure in this article off the vendor's page on the date given, and we keep the wider comparison current in AI bookkeeping software pricing, which puts Booke beside Digits and Docyt on the same meter.

What Booke AI includes and what it leaves out

Booke is a bookkeeping automation layer. On its site the core features are auto-categorization, an AI assistant for reconciliation, an accounts payable workflow for bulk documents, a client query tool for asking clients about unclear transactions, two-way integrations, inconsistency detection for month-end, an email assistant that turns client emails into tasks, interactive reports you can share with a link, an activity journal and a performance dashboard across clients.

For a firm that is a sensible bundle, because most of the hours in monthly bookkeeping go into coding transactions and chasing clients for receipts. What Booke does not set out to do is replace the deliverable at the end of the month. The financial statements still come out of QuickBooks Online or Xero, in their standard report layouts, and someone at the firm still assembles the pack a client, a lender or a board actually receives: a P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement that tie, comparatives, a few ratios and a paragraph on what changed.

Booke also depends on the bank feed. Daily categorization only works on transactions that reach the ledger. When a client banks somewhere the feed does not reach, or the feed drops months of history during a cleanup, the usual fix is to download the statement as CSV and convert the CSV file into a QBO import so the transactions land in QuickBooks where Booke can code them.

Is Booke AI worth it for a bookkeeping firm?

Work it per client. If categorization and receipt chasing take a staff member two hours a month on a typical client, and that hour costs the firm $35 to $50 loaded, the automation is worth $70 to $100 a month per client before any review time it adds back. At $129 list it only pays on your heavier clients. At a firm rate it can pay across the book, which is why the quote matters more than the sticker.

Run the test on real files before you sign. Pick three clients with at least one closed month each, one simple, one messy and one on Xero if you have any. Count the share of transactions Booke codes correctly without a touch, and the time your reviewer spends on the exception queue. That share is the number you are paying for.

Booke AI vs Digits and Docyt

The three are often listed together, but they are different purchases. Booke runs inside your existing QuickBooks or Xero file at $129 per business. Digits replaces the ledger with its own AI-native one, from $65 a month on Essentials, and we compare it plan by plan in Digits pricing. Docyt is a back office for hotels, restaurants and franchises, priced per property. If your clients are staying on QuickBooks or Xero, Booke is the like-for-like choice; a fuller list of tools that keep the ledger is on AI accounting software.

Firms rebuilding after Botkeeper closed in February 2026 will find Booke treated as the closest replacement, with a 40-client cost example, in Botkeeper alternatives for accounting firms.

Pricing the client statement pack on top of Booke

Once the books are coded, the monthly pack is the part clients see and the part they pay for. AIStatements reads a trial balance or general ledger export from QuickBooks Online or Xero, builds the P&L, balance sheet and statement of cash flows, checks that they tie, computes margins, burn, runway and days sales outstanding, writes the analysis in plain English and exports PDF and Excel in about a minute.

The Firm plan is $174 a month billed yearly, or $349 month to month, for up to 25 client companies, with a reviewer approval step before a pack leaves the workspace. At 20 clients that is about $8.70 per client a month on the yearly price, against Booke's $129 per business list rate for the coding underneath. Growth is $59 a month billed yearly for five companies, and Starter $24 a month billed yearly for one. The tiers are on the pricing page and the firm workflow on AIStatements for accounting firms.

AIStatements does not categorize transactions, reconcile bank accounts or chase clients for receipts. That is Booke's job. The two sit on either side of the close: Booke gets the ledger right, and the statement pack turns the ledger into something a client reads.

Does Booke AI have a free trial?

The pricing page does not list one for either plan as of 1 October 2026. Booke offers demos through a calendar link, and firm pricing starts with that call. Ask whether a paid first month can be cancelled after the test, and agree the three test clients before you start.

Does Booke AI work with QuickBooks Desktop?

Booke's site lists QuickBooks Online, Xero and Zoho Books. QuickBooks Desktop is not among them, so a Desktop client either moves to QuickBooks Online first or stays outside the automation. The statement pack does not have that limit: AIStatements reads a trial balance exported from QuickBooks Desktop the same way it reads one from QuickBooks Online.

AIStatements turns a bookkeeping export into a board-ready statement pack with the analysis written. Try the financial statement generator with a sample company, no account needed.
