OnPoint PCR starts at $499 per user per year, billed annually, for firms with up to five users, and every user also needs a Caseware Cloud license, which is priced separately. That is the figure on CPA.com's OnPoint PCR page, read on 24 October 2026. Caseware now sells the product as DAS PCR (formerly OnPoint PCR), and its own page shows no price at all, only Request a Demo, so the Cloud seats and any discount above five users arrive in a quote.
That makes OnPoint PCR one of the few engagement products for preparation, compilation and review work with a published starting price. It is still only a starting price. Below is what is actually published, the per-user math for a typical small firm, the costs that sit outside the $499, how it compares with the other engagement tools that publish a figure, and when a firm doing mostly compilations should price the statement job on its own.

What OnPoint PCR costs in 2026
OnPoint PCR is the cloud app for preparation (AR-C 70), compilation (AR-C 80) and review (AR-C 90) engagements that CPA.com and Caseware launched in 2018 around AICPA methodology. It runs on Caseware Cloud, imports the client trial balance from a system or from Excel or CSV, and populates draft financial statements and note disclosures by engagement type, with checklists, client requests and reviewer tools around them. Here is every price-related fact we could read on a first-party page.
| Item | Published price | Source and terms |
|---|---|---|
| OnPoint PCR, up to 5 users | From $499 per user per year | CPA.com, billed annually |
| OnPoint PCR, more than 5 users | Not published | CPA.com says discounts are available |
| Caseware Cloud license | Not published | CPA.com says one is required for each user |
| DAS PCR (formerly OnPoint PCR) | Not published | Caseware product page, Request a Demo only |
| Launch offer, 2019 (historical) | $495 per user per year | CPA.com news item, introductory pricing, no longer current |
How much does OnPoint PCR cost per user
The published floor is $499 per user per year, which works out to about $41.58 per user per month, paid up front for the year. What you actually pay per user is that figure plus your Caseware Cloud license, and for firms above five users, less whatever discount the quote carries. The table shows the PCR app alone, because the Cloud license is not published and we will not guess it.
| Users | PCR app per year | Plus |
|---|---|---|
| 1 (sole practitioner) | $499 | 1 Caseware Cloud license |
| 2 | $998 | 2 Caseware Cloud licenses |
| 3 | $1,497 | 3 Caseware Cloud licenses |
| 5 | $2,495 | 5 Caseware Cloud licenses |
| 6 or more | Quote | Discount on the PCR app, Cloud license per user |
The trap in a per-user model is the light user. A partner who signs reports, a manager who reviews, and two seasonal staff who build compilation files in January and February are four seats, even if two of them open the product for six weeks a year. Count the people who must log in to the file, not the people who work on compilations full time, because that is how the bill is built.
Is DAS PCR priced differently from OnPoint PCR
Nobody has published a DAS PCR price, so the honest answer is that you will only know from the quote. Caseware's product page now calls the app DAS PCR (formerly OnPoint PCR) and places it in its DAS Suite on Caseware Cloud, while CPA.com's OnPoint PCR page still shows the $499 starting price. When a product is renamed and folded into a suite, the risk at renewal is a bundle: the app you use, priced together with suite apps you do not. Ask whether your renewal is quoted for the PCR app alone, and get that in writing next to the suite price so you can compare the two.
OnPoint PCR pricing compared with other engagement software
Most engagement platforms publish nothing. The ones that do give you a useful range to test a quote against. Figures are from each vendor's own page, read in September and October 2026.
| Product | Published price | Priced by | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| OnPoint PCR (DAS PCR) | From $499 per user per year, plus Caseware Cloud | User | Cloud prep, comp and review file with AICPA guidance and note disclosures |
| AuditFile Professional | $199 per user per month, $179 billed annually | User | Cloud engagement platform, up to 15 users |
| AuditFile Pro Plus | $299 per user per month, $249 billed annually | User | Unlimited users, larger storage, audit guides |
| Quick Trial Balance Pro | $459 initial subscription | Office | Desktop trial balance with statements, accountant's report and notes |
| EZ Trial Balance | $399 per license | License | Desktop trial balance, unlimited clients and users |
| Caseware Working Papers, CCH Engagement, Guided Assurance | Quote only | User | Full engagement files for audits, reviews and compilations |
| AIStatements | From $24 a month billed yearly | Client company | Tied P&L, balance sheet and cash flow from a trial balance, with written analysis |
Read the table by what each price buys. OnPoint PCR and AuditFile are engagement platforms, so their per-user prices include methodology, checklists and the file. Quick Trial Balance Pro and EZ Trial Balance are desktop trial balance programs with a one-office price. A fuller treatment of the audit side, including what small firms actually pay, is in what audit software costs a small CPA firm.
What to ask for in an OnPoint PCR quote
Because the published figure covers only part of the bill, the quote is where the real price lives. Ask for these lines separately:
- The PCR app price per user for your user count, first year and renewal.
- The Caseware Cloud license per user, first year and renewal.
- Any other DAS Suite or Caseware Cloud apps in the bundle, each with its own price, so you can drop the ones you will not use.
- The annual increase cap, in writing.
- Training, onboarding and data migration from your current files, if charged.
- What happens to your engagement files and their export if you do not renew.
Then count users the way the license does. If two of your four seats are seasonal, ask whether licenses can be reassigned between people, because that is often worth more than a percentage discount.
When a cheaper route makes sense for compilation work
OnPoint PCR earns its seat price when reviews and full-disclosure compilations are a real share of the work. It carries the methodology, the checklists, the note disclosures and the reviewer trail in one file, and for that job $499 a user is reasonable.
Many small US firms have a different list. Most of their engagements are preparation engagements, compilations that omit substantially all disclosures, and recurring monthly or quarterly statements for bookkeeping clients. The work there is producing accurate, tied, well-presented statements quickly and putting the right report or legend in front of them. That is what AIStatements does: upload an adjusted trial balance as a CSV, or a QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite or Sage Intacct export, and it returns a formatted income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows that tie to each other, with a written read of the period and flags on balances that look wrong.
It is priced by client company, not by user. The Firm plan covers up to 25 client companies at $174 a month billed yearly, or $349 month to month, with a preparer and reviewer workflow and white-label packs, so adding a seasonal staff member costs nothing. It does not replace the engagement file. There are no SSARS checklists, no disclosure library and no report, and the engagement letter AR-C 80 requires still has to go out and come back signed, which you can send for e-signature in a few minutes. The side-by-side with every engagement platform is on our OnPoint PCR alternatives page, and the compilation workflow itself is on financial statement compilation software.
OnPoint PCR pricing questions firms ask
How much does OnPoint PCR cost per year?
OnPoint PCR starts at $499 per user per year, billed annually, for firms with up to five users, according to CPA.com, read 24 October 2026. Each user also needs a Caseware Cloud license, which is not published. A five-user firm therefore pays $2,495 a year for the PCR app before the Cloud licenses and any other suite apps in the quote.
Does OnPoint PCR have a free trial?
No free trial is listed on the CPA.com or Caseware pages read 24 October 2026. CPA.com offers a demo and a recorded product tour, and Caseware's DAS PCR page leads to Request a Demo. If you want to test on your own data first, ask the representative for a trial file on Caseware Cloud during the demo.
Is OnPoint PCR worth it for a small firm?
It is worth it when reviews and full-disclosure compilations are a meaningful share of revenue, because it bundles AICPA methodology, checklists, note disclosures and reviewer tools in one cloud file. For a firm whose list is mostly preparation engagements and compilations that omit disclosures, a per-user methodology platform is often more than the work needs, and a statement tool priced per client company costs less.
The quickest way to judge the statement side is to try it on a real file. Run one client's trial balance through the tool at the top of this page and compare the pack with what your current process produces.
