Inflo Alternatives and Inflo Audit Software Cost for US CPA Firms

The main Inflo alternatives for a US CPA firm are AuditFile, CaseWare Working Papers, CCH Engagement, Fieldguide and DataSnipper for audit work, and AIStatements for drafting the financial statements themselves. AuditFile is the only audit platform in that list with a published price, $199 and $299 per user per month. Inflo publishes no price: its site says you only pay for what you use and every route ends in Book a demo, read 21 October 2026. AIStatements turns a trial balance or a QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite export into a tied P&L, balance sheet and cash flow in about a minute, from $24 a month billed yearly.

Inflo is a cloud audit platform sold after a demo, with usage-based pricing and US content packs. If most of your engagement list is compilations and monthly statements, the job you need done is much smaller than an audit platform.

What Inflo audit software does and who buys it

Inflo calls itself a digital audit platform for accounting professionals. Its site, read on 21 October 2026, sells four solutions: Working Papers, Audit Data Analytics, Digital Collaboration and Quality Management. Working Papers is the engagement file. Audit Data Analytics ingests client ledgers for journal testing and analytics. Digital Collaboration handles client requests and document exchange, and Quality Management supports a firm's quality management system.

Inside Working Papers, the parts closest to statement work are Ingest Trial Balance, which groups the trial balance, manages lead schedules and records adjustments "for efficient financial statement preparation", and Trial Balance Analysis, which runs financial and ratio analysis. Methodology comes as content packs. Inflo offers US Audit and US Audit PCAOB packs, and in May 2025 it reported clean reports on both from a quality control materials examination performed under AICPA attestation standards. Mercia's methodology is also available inside the product.

Inflo is registered in the UK and has been hiring for US growth, so most of what you read about it online is written for UK firms and the FRC. A US partner evaluating it should ask specifically about the US content packs, US GAAP disclosure support and US-based support hours, because those are the parts that decide whether the file works for a US engagement.

How much does Inflo cost

Inflo does not publish a price. There is no pricing page (inflo.com/pricing returns a 404), no plan names, no per-user figure and no free trial. What the site does say is "Only pay for what you use, scaling profitably without unnecessary costs", which describes a usage-based model rather than a flat seat price. Every product page ends in Book a demo.

Usage-based is good news for a firm with a small audit book and bad news for budgeting, because the bill moves with engagement volume and the modules you switch on. Before the demo, have three numbers ready: audits and reviews per year, the number of people who need the working papers, and which of the four solutions you actually want. Ask for the quote by module, with first-year and renewal prices on separate lines and the annual increase cap in writing.

One directory lists a monthly starting figure for Inflo, but we could not find it on any Inflo page and the listing has since been taken down, so we do not repeat it. If you need a published number to test a quote against, AuditFile prices Professional at $199 per user per month and Pro Plus at $299, broken down on what audit software costs a small CPA firm.

Why US firms look for an Inflo alternative

The first reason is price visibility. A small firm comparing platforms in October, with busy season three months out, wants a figure it can put in a budget, and Inflo, Fieldguide, CaseWare and Wolters Kluwer all route that question to sales. AuditFile is the exception, which is why it ends up on most small-firm shortlists.

The second is the market the product was built for. A platform that grew up around UK audit regulation can run a US engagement well with the right content pack, but the firm has to check that the US packs, the disclosure checklists and the support model match how its staff work. Firms already trained on a US platform rarely switch for analytics alone.

The third is the mix of work, and it matters most. Pull last year's engagement list. In most US firms under about twenty people, audits are a handful and the bulk is compilations, tax-basis statements and monthly or quarterly management packs. Buying an audit platform to produce those is paying for working papers, risk assessment and sampling that a compilation never uses.

Inflo alternatives that run a full audit engagement

If you sign audit reports, you need an engagement platform, and the realistic alternatives to Inflo in the US are five. AuditFile is the cloud platform built for small and mid-sized US firms and the only one that publishes its price. CaseWare Working Papers is the desktop standard many US firms trained on, with a cloud option, sold by quote. CCH ProSystem fx Engagement and CCH Axcess Engagement are the natural choice for a firm on the Wolters Kluwer tax suite, and Axcess Engagement is sold in packs of 5 or 50 engagements.

Fieldguide is the AI agent platform aimed at larger audit and advisory practices, demo only. DataSnipper is a different kind of competitor: it does not run the engagement, it speeds up testing inside Excel and adds a Financial Statement Suite that checks statements already drafted. Firms that like Inflo's analytics but want to keep their current file often look at DataSnipper first.

All five of these are compared on price, size of firm and statement drafting on our audit software for CPA firms page, which is the place to start if you are still building the shortlist.

An Inflo alternative for drafting statements from a trial balance

AIStatements does one job from that list. You upload an adjusted trial balance as a CSV, or a general ledger or trial balance export from QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite or Sage Intacct, and it returns a formatted income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement that tie to each other, with a written analysis of the period. It flags balances sitting on the unusual side, amounts left uncategorized and rows that look entered twice, which are the things a reviewer would otherwise catch by hand.

It is not an audit platform, and it is honest to say what is missing. It keeps no audit working papers, runs no risk assessment, sends no client request lists and issues no report. A firm that signs audit opinions still needs Inflo or one of the platforms above for that work.

What it replaces is the statement production that sits behind compilations, tax-basis statements and recurring management reporting. The route from ledger to statements is set out on trial balance to financial statements, and the compilation workflow, with preparer and reviewer sign-off, on financial statement compilation software.

How to choose between Inflo and its alternatives

Start with the engagement count, not the feature list. If audits and reviews are a meaningful share of revenue and the firm likes a data-led approach, Inflo belongs on the shortlist and the demo is worth booking, as long as the US content packs are shown on a real US engagement during it.

If you run a steady handful of audits in a small firm, a published price matters more than analytics. AuditFile at $199 or $299 per user per month gives you a number to plan against, and CaseWare or CCH make sense if your staff already know them.

If audits are rare or absent, do not buy an audit platform to get its trial balance module. Price the statement job on its own. A firm with thirty compilation and management-reporting clients needs those thirty statement sets produced accurately every month or quarter, and on the AIStatements Firm plan that is $349 a month for up to 25 client companies with white-label packs and reviewer sign-off, with no engagement packs or per-user seats to count. Run one client's export through the tool at the top of this page and compare the output with what your current process produces.

Common questions

What are the best alternatives to Inflo?

For full audit engagements, AuditFile, CaseWare Working Papers, CCH ProSystem fx or Axcess Engagement and Fieldguide. For analytics and testing without changing the engagement file, DataSnipper. For firms whose work is mostly compilations and management statements, AIStatements, which drafts tied statements from a trial balance and costs from $24 a month billed yearly.

How much does Inflo audit software cost?

Inflo does not publish a price. Read on 21 October 2026, its site has no pricing page and no plan names, says you only pay for what you use, and sends every buyer to Book a demo. The cost is set in a quote that depends on engagement volume and which of its four solutions you license. AuditFile, at $199 and $299 per user per month, is the closest published benchmark.

Is Inflo available for US CPA firms?

Yes. Inflo offers US Audit and US Audit PCAOB content packs, and in May 2025 it reported clean reports on both from a quality control materials examination under AICPA attestation standards. The company is registered in the UK, so a US firm should confirm US GAAP disclosure support and support hours during the demo.

Does Inflo prepare financial statements?

Partly. Its Working Papers product ingests the trial balance, groups it, manages lead schedules and records adjustments for financial statement preparation, and runs ratio analysis. That happens inside an Inflo audit engagement. A firm that only needs the statements, without an audit file, can draft them directly from the trial balance with a statement tool.

Does Inflo have a free trial?

No free trial is offered on Inflo's site, read 21 October 2026. Every product page leads to Book a demo, so the only way to see the working papers on your own data is a guided session with sales. AuditFile offers a 14-day trial, and AIStatements runs a one-time demo on your own trial balance before you buy.

Can AIStatements replace Inflo?

Not for audits. AIStatements keeps no working papers, runs no testing and issues no report. It replaces the statement production step for compilations, tax-basis statements and management reporting: upload a trial balance or a QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite export and get a tied P&L, balance sheet and cash flow with written analysis in about a minute.
