Campfire Alternative and Campfire ERP Alternatives for Startups That Need Investor-Ready Statements
The main Campfire alternatives are other ERPs (NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Rillet), AI-native ledgers for earlier companies (Puzzle and Digits), and staying on QuickBooks Online or Xero with a reporting layer. Campfire publishes no prices and sells through demos and custom quotes. AIStatements is the alternative when the ledger is fine and what is missing is the monthly statement pack: it turns a QuickBooks, Xero or trial balance export into a tied P&L, balance sheet and cash flow with written analysis, from $24 a month billed yearly.
Campfire is an AI-native ERP that replaces your general ledger, built for venture-backed SaaS and AI companies that have outgrown QuickBooks. If your books still work and the gap is the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow your board and investors read, that is a separate and much smaller purchase.

What Campfire is in 2026
Campfire describes itself as an ERP for modern finance teams. Read on campfire.ai on 6 October 2026, the product covers a general ledger with multi-entity consolidation, revenue recognition for any billing model, close management with checklists, flux analysis and account reconciliation, real-time dashboards with drill-down to the transaction, and an AI assistant called Ember that answers questions about the books. The site lists 180+ currencies, unlimited entities and 100+ native integrations.
Its buyer is a venture-backed company. Named customers on the homepage include Replit, PostHog and TwelveLabs, and independent reviews place the core fit at SaaS and AI-native companies that have outgrown QuickBooks Online and do not want NetSuite. Money is not the constraint for Campfire itself: it announced a $35 million Series A in mid-2025 and a $65 million Series B in October 2025, co-led by Accel and Ribbit, bringing total funding to about $100 million.
That profile matters when you are deciding whether you need it. Campfire is a replacement for your ledger and your close, priced and implemented like an ERP. It is a strong product for a finance team with several entities, real ASC 606 work and a controller who closes every month.
Campfire pricing and why there is no number to compare
Campfire does not publish pricing. campfire.ai/pricing returns a 404, the site offers Get Started and a product tour, and access starts with a demo and a scoped quote. Third-party reviews agree there is no free plan and no self-serve tier, and that a quote depends on company size, entity structure, revenue complexity and the modules you configure. ERP Research lists a typical implementation of 3 to 10 weeks.
Some directory sites print an annual range for Campfire. None of them cites a contract or a vendor page, so we do not repeat those numbers here, and we break down what is and is not known in Campfire pricing. What is safe to say is the category: AI-native ERPs sold by quote, such as Rillet, show buyer-reported software costs in the tens of thousands of dollars a year before implementation, which we cover in Rillet pricing.
Our prices are public. Starter is $24 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month for one company, Growth $59 billed yearly for five companies with consolidation, Firm $174 billed yearly for 25 client companies. The full list is on the pricing page.
Why startups look for a Campfire alternative
The most common reason is timing. A seed or early Series A company usually starts looking at Campfire because an investor asked for proper GAAP-style statements or the board pack takes a weekend. Those are reporting problems. A new ERP solves them by replacing everything underneath, which is the most expensive and slowest route to a better P&L.
The second is scope. With one entity, simple subscription revenue and a bookkeeper who closes QuickBooks Online by the tenth, there is not much for consolidation, unlimited entities or automated revenue recognition to do yet. You would be paying for the stage you hope to reach.
The third is migration risk. Moving the ledger means moving history, rebuilding integrations and retraining whoever keeps the books, in the middle of a fundraise or an audit. Keeping the ledger and improving the output carries none of that.
The fourth is buying speed. A product you can only price after a sales call and a scoping session is a slow purchase for a team that needs next month's investor update. A published price and a demo on your own export lets you decide the same day.
Campfire competitors sorted by stage
If you have genuinely outgrown QuickBooks, compare Campfire with other ERPs. NetSuite has the widest module coverage, including inventory and manufacturing, at the cost of a longer implementation. Sage Intacct is the finance-first choice with deep dimensions and consolidation. Rillet is the closest like-for-like, another AI-native ERP for SaaS sold by quote.
If you are earlier, the comparison is with AI-native ledgers that publish prices. Puzzle and Digits both target startups before the ERP stage; we compare them on Puzzle accounting alternative and Digits accounting alternative. If you want people to keep the books, a managed service such as Pilot or Zeni closes the month for a monthly fee, broken down on Zeni AI alternative.
If the books are already kept and closed and the missing piece is the finished statement pack for investors, lenders or the board, none of those is the right purchase. That is the job AIStatements does, and the deliverable is laid out on investor reporting.
What AIStatements produces from the books you already keep
Export a trial balance or general ledger for the month from QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Sage Intacct or any ledger, and upload it. AIStatements maps the accounts and builds the profit and loss statement, the balance sheet and the statement of cash flows using the indirect method, then checks that they tie: net income rolls into retained earnings, and ending cash on the cash flow statement matches cash on the balance sheet.
It computes gross and net margin, burn, runway, current ratio and days sales outstanding, writes the analysis in plain English, flags lines that look like posting errors, and exports a PDF and an Excel workbook in about a minute. Growth adds a board-deck layout, an investor update draft and consolidation for up to five entities.
AIStatements is not an ERP. It does not replace your ledger, automate ASC 606 revenue recognition, run reconciliations or post journal entries. When revenue recognition or a third entity makes the close genuinely hard, an ERP such as Campfire is the right purchase, and AIStatements can still build the board pack from its trial balance export.
How to decide between Campfire and a reporting layer
Look at where the hours go. If the first two weeks of every month disappear into revenue schedules, intercompany eliminations and reconciliations across entities, the problem is inside the ledger and an ERP demo is worth booking. Bring your entity count, billing systems and transaction volume so the quote is real.
If the close finishes on time and the hours go into formatting statements, writing variance commentary and rebuilding the board deck, the problem is after the ledger. That costs $24 to $59 a month billed yearly to fix, and you can test it today on one of your own exports.

Common questions
What are the best Campfire alternatives?
For a full ERP, NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Rillet. For an AI-native ledger at an earlier stage, Puzzle or Digits, which publish their prices. For outsourced books, Pilot or Zeni. For investor-ready statements from books you already keep in QuickBooks or Xero, AIStatements from $24 a month billed yearly.
How much does Campfire cost?
Campfire does not publish pricing. As of 6 October 2026 its pricing URL returns a 404 and access starts with a demo and a custom quote based on company size, entities, revenue complexity and modules. There is no free plan or self-serve tier, so ask for the annual fee and the implementation scope in writing.
Is Campfire better than NetSuite?
It depends on the business. Campfire is built as a finance-first ERP for SaaS and AI companies, with revenue recognition, consolidation and an AI assistant, and a typical implementation of 3 to 10 weeks. NetSuite wins where the business needs inventory, manufacturing or warehouse modules, which Campfire does not offer.
When should a startup move from QuickBooks to Campfire?
Usually when revenue recognition gets complex, a second or third legal entity needs consolidation, or an audit exposes how much of the close lives in spreadsheets. Before that point, most startups get more value from better reporting on top of QuickBooks than from a ledger migration.
Does Campfire integrate with QuickBooks?
Campfire replaces QuickBooks rather than sitting on top of it, so the usual path is a migration of your history into Campfire. If you want to keep QuickBooks Online and only improve the statements, a reporting tool that reads your export is the alternative.
Can I use AIStatements with Campfire?
Yes. If you move to Campfire later, export the trial balance for the period and AIStatements builds the formatted statement pack, the analysis and the board deck from it. It reads the export only and never connects to or changes your ledger.
