Xenett Alternative: Xenett Pricing, Xenett Software and AI Review Compared for Bookkeeping Firms

The main Xenett alternatives are Double (formerly Keeper) for close and review, Financial Cents and Karbon for practice management, and AIStatements when the missing piece is the client deliverable: a tied P&L, balance sheet and cash flow with the analysis written out. Xenett costs $7.50 per client per month for AI Financials Review and $10 for the Workflow plan, read from its pricing page on 26 September 2026. AIStatements builds the statement pack from a QuickBooks, Xero, CSV or trial balance export, from $39 a month, and covers 25 client companies on the Firm plan.

Xenett reviews the books. It checks the close, finds the duplicate and the uncategorized entry, and runs the firm's workflow. What it does not produce is the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow your client actually reads each month. If that pack is the job, you need a different tool, or a second one.

What Xenett does well

Xenett sells itself as practice management with the close built in, and that is a fair description. On the review side it connects to QuickBooks Online and Xero with a two-way sync and runs what it calls more than 50 review points across the P&L and balance sheet: duplicate entries, uncategorized transactions, clearing accounts that did not clear, anomalies against prior months, and an entries checklist for every close. Add-ons cover AI-driven accruals for prepaids, payroll and deferred revenue, and intercompany reconciliation.

On the practice side it has project pipelines built from service-line templates, team capacity views, time tracking, a branded client portal with eSignature, Gmail and Outlook sync, and document storage that syncs with Google Drive, OneDrive and SharePoint. For a bookkeeping firm running forty monthly clients on QuickBooks Online, that is a real reduction in the time a senior spends checking a junior's work before the books are called closed.

The price is also low and public, which is rare in this category. If your problem is review quality and firm workflow, Xenett is a sensible buy and this page will not talk you out of it.

Why US firms look for a Xenett alternative

The most common reason is that review is not the deliverable. A clean close is the input. What the client pays for each month is a set of statements they can read, and most owners also want someone to tell them why cash fell while profit rose. Xenett's reporting is about the close: dashboards on where each client stands, 1099 and W-9 tracking, and diagnostic reports through Xenett Pulse. It does not typeset a client-ready profit and loss, balance sheet and statement of cash flows with commentary, so the firm still builds that pack by hand in Excel or a separate reporting tool.

The second reason is ledger coverage. Xenett is built on live QuickBooks Online and Xero connections. A lot of US small businesses, and the firms that serve them, still run QuickBooks Desktop, or hand over a CSV or a trial balance from something else. A review tool that needs a cloud connection cannot touch those files.

The third is scope. Some firms only wanted better review and found themselves buying a practice management system too, or already run Karbon or Financial Cents for workflow and do not want a second place to track jobs. If you only need one half of what Xenett does, a narrower tool is the cleaner purchase.

Xenett pricing per client

Xenett publishes its prices. Read from xenett.com/pricing on 26 September 2026, AI Financials Review is $7.50 per client per month and the Workflow plan, marked most popular, is $10 per client per month and adds the practice management tools to the AI review. Both come with a 14-day free trial. Enterprise is quote-only. Two add-ons are priced per client as well: Accruals plus AI at $15 a month and intercompany reconciliation at $10 a month, each free for the firm's first 60 days. Directory listings sometimes quote older figures, so use the vendor page.

Per client that is cheap. A firm with 25 monthly clients on the Workflow plan pays $250 a month; add accruals for every client and it becomes $625. The honest comparison with AIStatements is that the two tools are priced for different jobs. Our Firm plan is $289 a month billed yearly, or $349 month to month, for up to 25 client companies, and what it buys is the finished statement pack with preparer and reviewer sign-off, not the review of the ledger.

Starter is $39 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month for one company, and Growth is $99 a month billed yearly or $119 month to month for five. The full list is on the pricing page, and the reporting tools are priced side by side on financial reporting software.

Xenett competitors, and which one fits which job

Directory lists of Xenett alternatives mix three kinds of software, so start by naming the job.

If the job is close and review for a bookkeeping firm, the direct peer is Double, the product formerly called Keeper, which runs review checks against QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage Intacct and NetSuite clients and adds client financial reports, a portal and a tax workflow. Enterprise close tools such as FloQast and BlackLine show up on the same lists, but they are built for in-house finance teams at larger companies, not for a firm closing forty small clients. Our view of that category is on month-end close software.

If the job is firm workflow, the peers are Financial Cents, Karbon, Canopy and Jetpack Workflow. Those run the pipeline, the client requests and the deadlines, and several firms pair one of them with a separate review tool.

If the job is the monthly client report, the peers are Fathom, Syft Analytics and Reach Reporting for dashboards and KPIs, and AIStatements for a tied statement pack with the analysis already written. That is the half Xenett leaves open.

What AIStatements does instead

You upload a general ledger export, a transaction export or an adjusted trial balance from QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero or any system that writes a CSV. AIStatements builds the profit and loss statement, the balance sheet and the statement of cash flows and checks that they tie: net income flows into retained earnings, and ending cash on the cash flow matches cash on the balance sheet. Then it writes the analysis in plain English, computes margins, burn, runway, current ratio and days sales outstanding, flags lines that look wrong, and exports a PDF and an Excel workbook in about a minute.

On the Firm plan each client has its own workspace, a reviewer approves the pack before it can be exported, and the pack goes out under your firm's name with a client share link. The monthly deliverable is laid out on monthly financial reporting package, and the firm workflow on AIStatements for accounting firms.

What AIStatements does not do is review the ledger. It does not scan for duplicate bills, does not post accruals back into QuickBooks and has no practice management. The honest setup for many firms is both: close and review the books in Xenett, then export the closed month and produce the client pack here.

How to decide

Look at where the hours go after a client's month is closed. If the bottleneck is the review itself, catching miscodings before a partner signs off, Xenett or Double is the right purchase and the per-client price is easy to justify.

If the books are already clean and the slow part is turning them into something the client reads, the review tool will not shorten that. Run one closed month through AIStatements and compare the pack against the one your team built by hand. If a senior spends even two hours a month per client on formatting and commentary, the statement pack pays for itself before the review question even comes up.

Common questions

What are the best Xenett alternatives?

For close and review, Double (formerly Keeper). For firm workflow, Financial Cents, Karbon and Canopy. For client reporting dashboards, Fathom and Syft Analytics. For a tied P&L, balance sheet and cash flow with the analysis already written, AIStatements builds the pack from a QuickBooks, Xero or CSV export, from $39 a month.

How much does Xenett cost?

Xenett AI Financials Review costs $7.50 per client per month and the Workflow plan $10 per client per month, with a 14-day free trial, read from its pricing page on 26 September 2026. Accruals plus AI is a $15 per client add-on and intercompany reconciliation $10. Enterprise pricing is by quote.

What does Xenett software do?

Xenett is close, review and practice management software for accounting and bookkeeping firms. It syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero, runs AI review checks on each client's books, tracks the close with checklists, and on the Workflow plan adds project pipelines, time tracking, a client portal and email and document sync.

Does Xenett produce financial statements for clients?

No. Xenett reviews the books and reports on the close, but it does not produce a formatted client pack with a P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and written commentary. Firms typically build that in Excel or a reporting tool. AIStatements produces it from the closed month's export in about a minute.

Is Xenett the same as Double or Keeper?

No. They are separate companies. Double is the close and review product formerly called Keeper, and it competes with Xenett for the same bookkeeping-firm buyer. Both review QuickBooks Online and Xero client books. Double also includes client financial reports and a tax workflow, so it overlaps with Xenett more than any other tool on the list.

Can I use Xenett and AIStatements together?

Yes, and many firms would. Close and review the month in Xenett, then export the general ledger or trial balance from QuickBooks or Xero and upload it to AIStatements to produce the tied statements and commentary the client receives, with reviewer sign-off before export.
