Syft Alternative That Prepares the Statements, Not Just the Dashboards
Syft Analytics is a reporting and visualization layer that connects to QuickBooks or Xero and builds interactive dashboards, consolidations and forecasts. AIStatements is a statement generator: upload an export and it produces a formatted P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, tied to each other, with plain-English analysis, in about a minute from $39 a month.
Syft turns your ledger into interactive dashboards and consolidations. AIStatements turns it into a finished, tied-out statement pack with written analysis. Different job, and for most people a cheaper one.

What Syft Analytics is good at
Syft is an interactive financial reporting and analytics platform aimed at accountants, bookkeepers and their clients. It connects live to QuickBooks Online or Xero, then layers dashboards, ratio analysis, consolidations across entities, budgeting and forecasting on top of the ledger. Its reviewer base skews heavily toward accounting firms, and the product is genuinely strong at what it is built for: showing a client what the numbers mean, interactively, with charts a non-accountant can follow.
It was acquired by Intuit, which reinforced the QuickBooks-native direction. If your practice runs on QBO and you want a live analytics layer your clients can log into and click around, Syft is a reasonable place to spend money, and nothing on this page argues otherwise.
Its pricing is tiered by entity count. As of July 2026 the published plans start around $23 per month for a single entity on Standard, with mid tiers near $47 and $95, and unlimited-entity plans from roughly $125 per month upward. Vendors change pricing, so check syftanalytics.com before you budget from these figures.
Where people go looking for an alternative
The common trigger is a mismatch between what the tool produces and what the recipient wants. Dashboards are excellent for a monthly advisory call and poor for a lender, a board packet, a grant report or a buyer doing diligence. Those readers want a document: an income statement, a balance sheet and a cash flow statement, formatted conventionally, footing correctly, with a paragraph explaining the movement. Exporting a dashboard into that shape is manual work the analytics layer was never meant to do.
The second trigger is the live connection itself. Syft works best when it is wired into QBO or Xero. If your data arrives as a trial balance from a client, a CSV out of a system nobody integrates with, or a set of books you only touch quarterly, an integration-first tool is friction rather than leverage. AIStatements starts from a file, which means anything that exports works, including a spreadsheet somebody maintains by hand.
The third is scope creep in pricing. Forecasting and consolidation tiers are worth paying for if you use them. If the actual monthly job is producing statements for a handful of clients, you end up funding a platform to use one corner of it. That is the trade the table below is really about.
What AIStatements does differently
One upload produces the whole pack. AIStatements maps the accounts, builds the income statement, carries net income into equity on the balance sheet, derives the cash flow statement from the movement between periods, and runs three tie-out checks before it returns anything. Net income agrees across statements, assets equal liabilities plus equity, ending cash agrees with the balance sheet. The output is a document you can send, not a screen you have to demo.
It also writes the read. Margins, expense lines growing faster than revenue, working capital drift, anything that looks like a posting error, all summarized in plain English. That is the same engine behind our AI financial analysis and financial statement analysis software, and it is the paragraph that usually takes an accountant twenty minutes to write from scratch.
What it deliberately does not do: forecasting, budgeting versus actuals, live dashboards, or a client-facing portal to explore. It is historical statement preparation. If forecasting is the reason you are shopping, a planning platform is the honest answer, and our Jirav comparison covers that end of the market.
Running both, which is what most firms actually do
These are not mutually exclusive products, and firms that use both tend to split them by audience. The analytics layer goes to clients who show up for a monthly advisory call and want to explore. The statement generator produces the deliverables: the compilation, the lender pack, the board reporting, the year-end set the CPA works from. Paying for both is defensible when both audiences exist.
The cheap way to find out which you need is to run one month through each and look at what you actually sent to the client. If it was a PDF statement pack, the analytics subscription is doing less work than it costs. If it was a link to a live dashboard and the statements never left the accounting software, the reverse is true.
AIStatements publishes its pricing: $39 a month for one company, $99 for five, $289 for up to 25 client companies on the firm plan, on the pricing page. For multi-client workflow specifically, software for accounting firms covers how the roster and review flow work, and financial statement preparation software covers the preparation sequence in detail.

Common questions
What is the best Syft Analytics alternative?
It depends what you use Syft for. For dashboards and forecasting, Fathom and Reach Reporting are the closest like-for-like tools. For producing formatted, tied-out financial statements from an export, AIStatements is the alternative: it generates the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow with written analysis in about a minute, from $39 a month, without needing a live QuickBooks connection.
How much does Syft Analytics cost?
Syft prices by entity count in tiers. As of July 2026 published plans start around $23 per month for a single entity, with mid tiers near $47 and $95 and unlimited-entity plans from roughly $125 per month. Because vendors adjust pricing, confirm current figures on syftanalytics.com. AIStatements publishes flat plans from $39 a month for one company.
Does AIStatements connect to QuickBooks like Syft does?
AIStatements works from exports rather than a permanent live sync, which is deliberate: it means any source works, including a client trial balance, a Xero export or a plain CSV. You export from QuickBooks and upload, and the account mapping is remembered so later periods take seconds. Syft is built around a continuous connection to QBO or Xero.
