Financial Reporting Software: 9 Tools Compared for 2026 With Verified Pricing
The best financial reporting software depends on the job. AIStatements generates a finished P&L, balance sheet and cash flow pack from a QuickBooks, Xero or CSV export, from $39 a month. LiveFlow, Fathom, Reach Reporting and Jirav are analysis, dashboard and planning layers that sit on an already-connected ledger. Pick by the job, not the brand.
A plain, honest comparison of the tools finance teams use to turn a ledger into reports, with real pricing and the one distinction that decides which you need: do you want statements generated, or a connected ledger analyzed?

The one distinction that narrows the choice
Most "financial reporting software" comparisons list a dozen tools as if they do the same thing. They do not. There are two different jobs hiding under one phrase. The first is generating the statements: taking a period of transactions and producing a formatted income statement, balance sheet and cash flow. The second is analyzing statements you already have: dashboards, KPIs, forecasts and consolidations built on top of a ledger that is already connected and closed. Buyers who only need the profit and loss rather than a full reporting stack will find the narrower field, and current prices for each option, on profit and loss statement software.
AIStatements does the first job. LiveFlow, Fathom, Reach Reporting and Jirav mostly do the second. That matters because the tools in the second group assume you have already produced clean statements; they visualize and model on top of them. If what you actually need is the statement pack itself, produced from an export in about a minute, a dashboard tool is the wrong purchase. If you already close cleanly and want ongoing FP&A, generation is not what you need. Decide which job is yours first, then the shortlist writes itself.
AIStatements: generate the statement pack
AIStatements turns a QuickBooks, Xero or CSV export into a board-ready P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement, footed and tied, with plain-English analysis of margins, variances, runway and red flags written next to the numbers. It is the only tool in this list that builds the statements from a raw CSV, so you are not blocked waiting for a perfectly structured, connected ledger. The plans on our pricing page start at $39 a month, with a Firm plan for accountants closing many entities.
It is best for controllers, bookkeepers and founders who need a finished deliverable, a lender pack, a board deck, a loan application, without building or maintaining a spreadsheet model. Its honest limit is that it is not a live dashboard or a budgeting engine; it produces the statements and the written analysis, then hands you a PDF or XLSX. If your reporting ends at a clean, analyzed pack, that is the point. Try it on the income statement generator or the balance sheet generator, or read what a financial report generator produces if you want the tool rather than this shortlist.
LiveFlow and Reach Reporting: dashboards on a connected ledger
LiveFlow is spreadsheet-native. It streams QuickBooks and Xero data into live Google Sheets and Excel, so a dashboard you build once refreshes on its own. It is the right tool when you want a fully custom spreadsheet model with your own formulas and KPI definitions. Its pricing is not published; the page directs you to book a demo for a custom quote, which is worth knowing before you invest a shortlist slot. Our LiveFlow alternative page covers the spreadsheet-versus-finished-pack trade-off in detail.
Reach Reporting sits between a spreadsheet and a dedicated reporting app. It builds dashboards, reports and consolidations on a connected ledger and includes unlimited users on every plan, which suits accounting firms giving many clients a login. Public pricing, checked 23 August 2026, runs $149 a month for one connection, $290 for ten and $550 for twenty-five, with annual plans at $1,548, $2,436 and $4,620. It is a strong pick for a firm that wants branded, always-on client dashboards rather than a generated statement pack.
Fathom and Jirav: analysis and FP&A layers
Fathom is an analysis and forecasting layer. Connect a QuickBooks or Xero ledger and it produces benchmarking, ratio analysis, cash-flow forecasts and multi-company consolidations, with brandable reports. It prices by connected company count, in four Pro tiers covering one, ten, twenty-five and fifty companies, with all features and unlimited users on each. It publishes no single global currency: checked 31 August 2026, a euro-routed view of its pricing page showed 44, 250, 375 and 645 a month for those tiers, stated as EUR excluding applicable taxes, with separate Portfolio tiers for firms carrying a hundred companies or more. It is best when you already close cleanly and want deep, repeatable analysis on top. Our Fathom alternative page explains the generate-versus-analyze split.
Jirav is the heaviest tool here: full financial planning and analysis, budgeting, driver-based forecasting and reporting in one platform. Its pricing has changed materially: checked on 23 August 2026, Jirav lists Controller Essentials from $50 a month and CFO Enterprise from $150, where it previously opened at several thousand dollars a year. That makes it the cheapest published route into real budgeting and forecasting in this table. It still fits a company that wants an integrated plan-report-forecast system rather than a statement pack, and it carries the implementation effort that comes with one.
Syft, Cube and CaseWare: the three this roundup used to miss
Syft Analytics is the cheapest published option in the category and the one most likely to be missed on a shortlist, partly because it spent part of 2026 with no public pricing page at all. It publishes again: checked 23 August 2026, Standard is $23 a month for one entity, Plus $47 and Advanced $95, with a free Basic tier underneath. One detail matters more than the headline price. GAAP and IFRS financial statement formats start on Plus, not on Standard, so the $23 plan is a dashboard and reporting tool rather than a statement tool. Our Syft alternative page covers the dashboards-versus-statements split.
Cube is a spreadsheet-native FP&A platform: it keeps your model in Excel or Google Sheets and sits underneath as the system of record, pulling actuals, consolidating entities and pushing figures back into the sheet. All three tiers, Bronze, Silver and Gold, are quote-only, with premium support, extra modules and API access sold as add-ons. It belongs on a shortlist when a planning process is what you are buying, and the Cube alternative page covers where it is oversized for statement work.
CaseWare is the odd one out because it is not really a reporting layer at all. It is audit, compilation and working-paper software built for the engagement workflow a licensed firm runs, and it is priced by engagement rather than by seat, with no public number. If your requirement is a compilation or review under professional standards, that is its territory rather than ours, and the CaseWare alternative page is honest about which parts of that we do not replace.
Which financial reporting software is right for you
Start from the deliverable. If you need finished statements produced from an export with the analysis written, AIStatements is built for that narrow job and works from a CSV. If you want the cheapest published reporting layer on a connected ledger, Syft at $23 a month, remembering that GAAP statement formats start on the $47 tier. If you want a bespoke live spreadsheet model, LiveFlow. If you want branded, unlimited-user client dashboards, Reach Reporting. Deep analysis and consolidation on an already-connected ledger, Fathom. Budgeting and forecasting, Jirav at $50 a month, now the cheapest published FP&A option here. A compilation or review engagement under professional standards, CaseWare.
For most small businesses and the accountants who serve them, the daily need is the statement pack itself, produced quickly and consistently at close. That is the narrow job AIStatements is built to do well. Our own plans are on the pricing page. If your books are in QuickBooks, the QuickBooks financial statements workflow shows the connect-and-generate path, the software for accounting firms page covers producing packs across a client roster, and financial reporting software under $100 a month ranks just the entry plans for a small firm. And if the problem sits earlier than reporting, in categorizing the ledger rather than formatting it, the wider category map including bookkeeping automation and close tools is on AI accounting software.
