FloQast Competitors and FloQast Alternatives for Teams Whose Close Works but Whose Statements Run Late

The main FloQast competitors are BlackLine and Trintech Adra for larger companies, Numeric and other newer AI close tools for venture-backed teams, and Xenett or Double for close review inside accounting firms. If the close is fine and the monthly statement pack is the problem, AIStatements builds tied statements with written commentary from a QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite or trial balance export from $24 a month billed yearly. FloQast publishes no prices: all three packages on floqast.com/pricing, read 12 October 2026, end in Contact Sales, and Vendr reports a median contract of $24,481 a year.

FloQast runs the close: the checklist, the reconciliations, the sign-offs your auditor wants to see. If your books already close on time and the slow part is the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow that go to the owner, the board or the bank, a close platform is a large contract for that one job.

What FloQast does and who it is built for

FloQast is close management software for in-house accounting teams. It was built by former auditors and accountants, and it shows: the product is organized around a close checklist, account reconciliations that are tied out and signed off, and evidence an external auditor can follow. Its current pricing page sells three packages. Close Management covers the checklist, reconciliations, accounting operations, projects, an AI assistant and the ERP integration. Close AI adds AI agents, high-volume transaction matching including three-way matching, automated amortization, depreciation and subledger reconciliations, automatic journal entry posting and variance explanations. Risk and Compliance covers controls, audit readiness, enterprise risk management and testing, and can be bought alone.

The buyer is a controller or chief accounting officer with a close calendar, several accountants and an audit every year, typically on NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP or Workday. For that team FloQast is a well-established product, and a contract in the tens of thousands is easy to defend against the hours it saves.

This page is for the buyer who keeps arriving at FloQast from a different direction: the assistant controller at a company on QuickBooks Online or Xero, the fractional CFO with four clients, the two-person finance team whose books close by the 8th and whose board pack still goes out on the 20th.

FloQast pricing and what a contract costs

FloQast does not publish a price. Its pricing page, read and screenshotted on 12 October 2026, leads with "No Per-User Fees" and says packages scale with business outcomes rather than seat count. Every package ends in Contact Sales, and every route starts with a demo. There is no self-serve plan to buy.

The best independent number is buyer data. Vendr, updated February 2026, reports a median of $24,481 a year across 312 FloQast purchases, with a low of $10,147 and a high of $68,727. Vendr also lists AutoRec at $15,000 to $50,000 or more a year and other modules at roughly $10,000 to $30,000 each, figures that reflect FloQast's older module packaging. Implementation is quoted on top. A directory listing showing a $999 a month Basic plan does not match anything on the vendor page, so do not budget from it. The full breakdown is in our FloQast pricing guide.

AIStatements prices by company count. Starter is $24 a month billed yearly or $49 month to month for one company. Growth is $59 a month billed yearly or $119 month to month for up to five companies, with consolidation and an investor update draft. Firm is $174 a month billed yearly or $349 month to month for 25 client companies with reviewer sign-off. A year of Growth is $708. Every plan is on the pricing page.

Why teams look for a FloQast alternative

Size is the first reason. A close platform earns its fee when six accountants share a checklist of 150 tasks and an auditor wants every reconciliation signed and dated. A company with one staff accountant and an outside CPA does not have a coordination problem. It has a reporting problem, and FloQast does not produce the statement pack.

The deliverable is the second reason. FloQast's flux analysis explains account movements to the accounting team and the auditor. It is not a typeset profit and loss statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows with a written explanation an owner, an investor or a loan officer can read. Most teams still build that pack in Excel after the close tool has finished.

The third is the buying cycle. A demo, a scoped proposal, an annual contract and an implementation project make sense for a multi-entity company replacing a spreadsheet close. They do not make sense for a founder who needs statements for a lender by Friday.

FloQast competitors grouped by the job you need done

If the job is close management for a mid-size or enterprise team, the direct competitors are BlackLine, the long-standing choice for large companies with dedicated system admins, Trintech Adra for mid-market reconciliation, and OneStream or Workiva where the close sits next to consolidation and SEC reporting. All of them are bought on a quote, like FloQast.

If the job is close management for a venture-backed team that wants AI to do more of the matching and explaining, buyers compare Numeric and newer AI close tools such as Truewind. Our Numeric accounting alternative page sets out what Numeric costs today, and Truewind AI alternative covers the AI bookkeeping end of the market.

If the job is close review across many clients at an accounting firm, FloQast is the wrong shape, since it is designed around one company's close. Firms compare Xenett and Double, priced per client, on Xenett alternative.

If the job is the monthly pack itself, the peers are reporting tools: Fathom, Syft and Reach Reporting for dashboards, and AIStatements for tied statements with the analysis written out. That is the part a close platform leaves to the spreadsheet. Where that step sits in the month is laid out on month-end close software.

What AIStatements produces once the books are closed

Export the closed month's trial balance or general ledger from QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct or any system that writes a CSV, and upload it. AIStatements builds the profit and loss statement, the balance sheet and the statement of cash flows by the indirect method, and checks that they tie: net income rolls into retained earnings and ending cash on the cash flow matches cash on the balance sheet.

It then writes the variance commentary in plain English, computes gross and net margin, burn, runway, current ratio and days sales outstanding, flags balances that look like posting errors, and exports a PDF and an Excel workbook in about a minute. Growth adds multi-period comparisons, consolidation of up to five entities, a board deck layout and an investor update draft. The finished deliverable is shown on monthly financial reporting package.

AIStatements is not a close tool. It does not run a checklist, reconcile accounts, match transactions, test controls or post journal entries back to the ledger. If the close itself is slow or failing audit, that is what FloQast and its competitors are for.

How to choose between FloQast and a reporting layer

Look at where the hours go. If most of the month disappears into reconciliations, chasing sign-offs and pulling support for the auditor, buy a close platform and get quotes from FloQast, BlackLine and Numeric on the same entity count and the same scope, with implementation priced as a separate line.

If the books close on time and the hours go into formatting statements and writing what changed, run one closed month through AIStatements and compare the result with the pack your team built by hand. At $708 a year for Growth against a median FloQast contract of $24,481, the reporting layer is the cheaper thing to test first, and nothing stops the team from adding a close platform when the second and third accountants arrive.

Common questions

Who are FloQast's competitors?

The closest FloQast competitors are BlackLine and Trintech Adra for close and reconciliation, OneStream and Workiva where close meets consolidation and reporting, and Numeric for venture-backed teams. Accounting firms compare Xenett and Double. For the finished monthly statements with written commentary, AIStatements is the reporting-layer alternative from $24 a month billed yearly.

How much does FloQast cost?

FloQast does not publish prices. All three packages on its pricing page, read 12 October 2026, end in Contact Sales, and the page says there are no per-user fees. Vendr reports a median contract of $24,481 a year across 312 purchases, ranging from $10,147 to $68,727. Implementation is quoted separately.

What is FloQast used for?

FloQast is used by in-house accounting teams to run the month-end close: a shared close checklist, account reconciliations with sign-off, AI matching and journal entry posting in the Close AI package, and controls testing and audit readiness in Risk and Compliance. It does not produce the formatted statement pack that goes to owners or lenders.

Is FloQast an ERP?

No. FloQast sits on top of your ERP or general ledger and pulls balances from it through an integration. Its site lists NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics and Xero, and its help center lists QuickBooks Online among the systems it can post journal entries to. Your ledger stays where it is.

Is FloQast better than BlackLine?

It depends on size. FloQast is usually chosen by mid-size teams that want accountants, not system admins, to run the close, while BlackLine is the common pick at large enterprises with complex reconciliation volume and a dedicated admin. Both are quote-only. Neither builds the monthly statement pack, which is where a reporting tool fits.

Can I use FloQast and AIStatements together?

Yes. Close the month in FloQast, export the trial balance or general ledger from your ERP and upload it to AIStatements to produce the tied P&L, balance sheet and cash flow with written commentary for the owner, the board or the bank. The two tools do different jobs and barely overlap.
